This project was part of an additional module called 'thinking through drawing' at my University. This module involved using different methods of 'drawing' to explore the way we think about concepts and ideas. I was exploring how movement and motion can be expressed within a drawing.
I experimented with a range of different methods but finally chose Slit-scan photography to create my final piece. I used slit-scan photography to capture movement and motion of a cyclist. I wanted to capture the cyclists movement while also distorting the image to create more motion.
The final piece is a longer landscape image which shows the distorted cyclists journey into the next frame. I believe that I was able to capture the cyclists movement and journey in a unique way.
